Garage Bar
This branding project took off during a meeting with owner Steve Wilson inside an abandoned 1920s service station that would eventually become Garage Bar. Over pizza and Pabst Blue Ribbon, we brainstormed ideas for the name, brand tone, and architectural approach, emphasizing the importance of authenticity. We agreed to preserve as much of the original architecture as possible, including vintage tire racks and the grease gun, to honor the building’s history. The brand was crafted to grow organically from this heritage, featuring gritty, dark color schemes and hand-crafted details that echoed the service station's past. The overall tone, reflected in all branding elements, architectural design, and signage, was designed to be irreverent, fun, and not too serious. This approach not only celebrated the building's origins but also fostered a sense of community and nostalgia among visitors.
